I am married to a wonderful God-fearing man. He was brought up in a family of 7 children on a farm in the country. Unlike many families today, his dad was the only parent working outside the home. They didn’t have a lot and all four sons were taught how to do just about everything for themselves.
We love to see antique cars and trucks that had been refurbished or restored. One time we saw an old truck that had been restored but with a wooden bed. Hubby fell in love with it and since he had an older truck, decided he wanted to put a wooden bed on his truck.
He “found” the wood…we didn’t have the money to buy it~mostly, he cut down dead trees. He worked steadily every evening on his truck until he got the bed together. Then the pieces had to be cut out for the tires. After cut out, I commented that they looked like slices of watermelon. He suggested I paint them as such.
The result is what you see above. Of course, after I’d finished, he pointed out the fact that the white seeds would be more in the center of the slice and not around the rind. So, I’m not an artist!
One day I’ll dig out the pictures of that old truck with the wooden bed and share them with you.
Make a memory today!!!!
